Samsung quietly slipped two Galaxy AI features onto the Galaxy Z Fold 7 as part of its June 2026 update — but only users in South Korea will see them for now.
The over-the-air package that began rolling out this week bundles the June security patch and Galaxy AI additions previously introduced with the Galaxy S26 series. Early reports show the Fold 7 picked up Priority Notifications and Files Summaries, features many owners had been expecting when One UI 8.5 launched but weren’t included in that initial build.
What’s included
Priority Notifications tries to declutter your shade by surfacing the notifications the phone thinks matter most — messages and other important alerts get a special style and higher placement so they’re harder to miss. Files Summaries lives inside My Files and generates quick, AI-created overviews for PDFs and TXT documents so you can understand a file at a glance.
It’s a modest set of additions, but practical: one helps you notice the right pings, the other saves a few seconds when skimming documents. The Fold 7 didn’t get the full trio of S26 features that the Galaxy S25 series recently received — Samsung delivered prioritize and file summaries to the Fold, while the S25 lineup saw an extra notification-summarize function and the company later confirmed S26 call screening would be backported too Samsung backtracks: Galaxy S25 will get S26’s AI call screening with One UI 8.5.
The firmware appearing in Korea carries the June security fixes (45 issues patched) and is identified in reports under build F966NKSUABZF1. As with most Samsung rollouts, the company tends to start at home and widen the release over the following days or weeks, so owners elsewhere should see the update soon. To check manually: Settings > Software update > Download and install.
These additions trace back to Samsung’s staggered One UI 8.5 strategy — some AI features arrived on certain models first, others later. A note of caution: Fold 7 users have been vocal about battery life regressions since the One UI 8.5 update, so while new AI tricks are welcome, for many owners the bigger priority remains stability and stamina. Expect Samsung to expand the June build outside Korea in short order — and if you do get the update, keep an eye on your battery metrics for a few charge cycles.
If you own a Fold 7, the new features aren’t earth-shattering, but they’re useful. Check Settings for the update, try the File Summaries on a long PDF, and see whether Priority Notifications actually cuts down the noise for you.
